Hardware

Robots

We are currently working mainly on two different platforms. The DroidUp X02 is used in the Large Division, and the High Torque Pi+ is used in the Small Division of the RoboCup.

History

Until 2015, we used the Darwin platform. Because of the new demands in the league, we designed two new robots: Hambot and Minibot. These new robots allowed us to walk on the artificial grass for the first time and provided more space for additional hardware. In 2018, we purchased two “Wolfgang” robots (originally designed by the WF Wolves based on the NimbRo robots and further developed by us under the name “Wolfgang”) and used them alongside the Minibots. In 2019, we also replaced the two Minibots with Wolfgang robots.

The Wolfgang robots played their last German Open 2026 in 2026 and were replaced by the Pi+ robots for the RoboCup World Championship 2026 in Incheon, as the Pi+ robots are significantly more robust and have better motors.
